This year witnessed some concrete innovations in the field, including invasive species management, women’s economic empowerment and engagement with the local government. We adopted diverse strategies for policy engagement, such as deliberative policy labs, recommending policy document revisions, facilitating and organizing large policy forums and contributing to community forestry workshops. Trainings, workshops, and on-site support remained important strategies for capacity building of community forestry user groups, forestry officials, women and smallholders. Our commitment to publications remained a crucial strategy for informing the broader community.
