A half day interaction program on ‘Forestry sector policies in Nepal’ has been organized on 8th April 2013. More than 20 participants, representing different civil society organizations (CSOs), participated in the program and discussed on the forestry sector policies of Nepal, its challenges and opportunities for CSOs for constructive roles and contributions. The major issues raised by the participants were-how CSO’s presence could be made effective; how representatives of the CSO’s could represent the diverse constituencies of the CSOs; what might be the methods through which all CSOs could have spaces to contribute and play pro-active roles; the methods through which CSOs become informed about their presence in the policy processes and could do deliberations; the methods which could blend positivistic and pragmatic knowledge; and the ways through which CSO’s presence could be made meaningful in the forestry sector policies.
