Promoting Forest Based Enterprises in Nepal: Lessons from Piloting Activities in Koshi Hill Districts

This booklet is an outcome of the documentation and analysis of piloting forest based enterprises in Koshi Hill districts (Dhankuta, Terhathum, Bhojpur and Sankhuwasabha) of Nepal. Piloting forest based enterprises was a part of Multi Stakeholder Forestry Programme (MSFP) Lot 1, jointly implemented by a consortium of Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) and ForestAction Nepal, for three years (March 2013 to July 2016).

This booklet is a result of the hard work of its contributors. So, our greatest thanks goes to the authors of this publication for their strenuous efforts. This publication has been benefitted from a wide range of people, viz. the entrepreneurs, enterprises, and the people related to the enterprises supported for the piloting activities; government officials at local and district levels; staffs and concerned individuals of the local implementing partner organizations (LIPOs) of MSFP cluster one district and RRN/MSFP. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the local people,
community members, and beneficiaries of the related activities for rendering their valuable time, information and support to this study team.
