Mr. Adhikary’s areas of research include analyses of the prospects of community forest enterprises in the context of forest tenure rights devolution in Nepal, and policies and measures addressing the drivers of deforestation and forest degradation and barriers to improved forest management pertaining to REDD+ in the Nepalese context. As an environmental economist, he is interested in research, analysis and tools needed to ensure effective and cost-efficient reduction of environment degradation with equitable impacts and co-benefits. Additionally, he is also keen in carrying out evaluations of policy strategies for reducing vulnerabilities and risks arising from climate change and other forms of environmental degradation.
