Ms Srijana Sigdel is a forestry professional and researcher working in the intersection of forest science, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and forest governance. She holds a master’s degree in wildlife management and biodiversity conservation, supported by the IOF/NORHED Scholarship and recognised with the Swyambhuman Amatya Bibhusan, and a bachelor’s degree in forestry. Her research specializes in human- wildlife conflict and habitat use and possesses a strong background in applied research, participatory approaches, GIS-based analysis, and field-based forest management.
At Forest Action Nepal, she has contributed to building agroforestry-based adaptation Plans for resilient floodplains (BAGAR) and climate action financing through women and social enterprises (CaFIN) projects. Currently she is involved in promoting ecologically sound and socially just forest landscape restoration. Her work focuses on generating evidence and translating empirical research into actionable policy and management insights.
