The Journal documents and disseminates the insights, lessons and innovations taking place in socio-cultural, political and economic aspects of environmental governance and rural livelihoods in Nepal. Original scientific papers, short communications and review articles are published in the journal. In this connection, we welcome articles analysing contemporary issues on nature-society interactions that have direct implications both on local livelihoods and resource sustainability. We particularly encourage the papers that are guided by critical social sciences perspectives and enriched by insights from deliberative governance, political economy, political ecology, social learning and institutional theories. Papers are published in English. The authors are fully responsible for the originality of the paper and formal correctness. The paper must not be published previously elsewhere.

Forest Action organized a half-day knowledge sharing workshop on ‘REDD+ Policy Process and Governance in Nepal’. The program was scheduled on 17th Sept, 2013 from 8:30am to 12:30pm, at Sap Falcha, Babarmahal, Kathmandu. The objective of program was to discuss key forest policy and governance issues in relation to implementation of REDD+ in Nepal. This will be valuable to gather vital messages to inform ongoing REDD+ readiness process and especially in development of National REDD+ Strategy.

It was jointly organized by ForestAction Nepal, Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) and Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS). The objective of this forum is to provide an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to reflect, analyze, share and disseminate their research and experiences. This will also help document innovative responses of local institutions to climate change and theorize the links between meso-level institutions and climate change adaptation

The Journal of Forest and Livelihood would like to invite interested researchers, scholars to submit their manuscripts for the special issue on ‘Forest Fire’. Manuscripts should be submitted via email at fa@forestaction.org and rahul.karki@gmail.com. The deadline for full manuscript submission is 30 August 2021. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published online. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited.
