ForestAction organised two days interaction workshop on Natural Resources and Federalism on February 16-17, 2009 in Kavre district of Nepal. Natural resource specialists, experts, civil society members and academicians took part in the discussion on the issue of constitution making processes in the constituent assembly, natural resources rights in the context of federalism and the civic engagement in the constitution making process towards developing natural resources rights perspectives in the new constitution.

Natural Resource Rights and Equity Issues in New Constitution Making Process: Progress and Challenges
ForestAction organised a one day interaction workshop on aforementioned theme on August 18, 2009 in Kathmandu. The objectives of the workshop were to share the processes of how and to what extent right to natural resources are articulated; and to review the progress on provisions related to natural resources rights, equity, and justice in the thematic concept paper concerning natural resources in the constituent assembly. The interaction brought together a range of participants from constituent assembly members, experts, civil society members, and rights activists in the area of natural resources.
Issues of Natural Resources Distribution and Rights in State Restructuring and Federalism
ForestAction and Community Development Organisation (CDO) jointly organised a half day interaction on ‘Issues of Natural Resources Distribution and Rights in State Restructuring and Federalism’ on July 25, 2009 in Kathmandu. In the program, Constituent Assembly (CA) members from the committee on Natural Resources, Financial Rights and Public Revenue Committee, experts, civil society members and organisations working in the grassroots discussed rights and governance issues of natural resources in the New Constitution. While the local representatives put forth local agenda, FA and CDO presented on issues of NRM followed by open discussion upon the opinions and ideas of and CA members.
Consultation and Outreach Plan for Reduced Emission from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD)
A one day multi stakeholders consultation on REDD and its outreach plan was jointly organized by seven members consortium formed for the preparation of consultation and outreach plan of REDD readiness preparation, in Kathmandu on December 23, 2009.There were 52 participants representing national government, civil society organisations and private sector . The workshop identified stakeholders on REDD, worked out on consultation and outreach strategies to be followed for REDD readiness preparation including discussion on various issues concerning REDD+ implementation in Nepal.
NGO Group on Climate Change
ForestAction hosted a national workshop of the NGO group on Climate Change in collaboration with LI-BIRD in Kathmandu on April 19, 2009. Main objective of this workshop were to share the updates of the NGO group on Climate Change Network, affairs relating to climate change adaptation, state of art in Nepal, REDD concept, its updates and challenges, climate change policy processes and role of civil society, as well as working strategies to increase the effectiveness of NGO group. Despite the members of the group, officials from the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation also took part in this workshop
Project Management, Operation and Maintenance
Training of Trainers on Organisational Development (ToT on OD) for District Project Coordinators and Project Officers
This training was organized on March 4-5, 2009 in Kathmandu. The main objective of this training were to increase the capacity of district partners and district team members to promote sustainability of the action being undertaken. The participants of this training conducted 11 OD trainings in their respective districts. Besides these several livelihood and capacity development trainings were organised in 11 working districts of Fostering Health and Livelihoods of Conflict Affected People in Nepal.
Apprenticeship course fifth module
The objective of the program was to share the knowledge and experience of the earlier modules amongst the participants-May, 2016. Participants shared their knowledge and the positive response from the society after getting the training. There has been positive impact on the social status of participant, due to the knowledge gained from the training program. The participants visited farms in Kathmandu valley and also the Ministry of agriculture. The participants have been capable of applying all the practices learnt from these farms, to their own farm as well as share their knowledge with their local communities within their respective districts.
Apprenticeship course fourth module
Fourth module of apprenticeship course for Agriculture Group was conducted from 15 -22 April 2013 at Hasera Farm, Kavre. The module for the group was focused on providing permaculture techniques to the participants.
Training Conducted in Sanoban CFUG
With the objective of strengthening the internal governance and making the long term and short term plans of Community Forest User Group (CFUG), two days training was conducted on 21st and 22nd September, 2015 in Sanoban CFUG, one of the Participatory Action Research (PAR) site of CALCNR.
Livelihood and Empowerment Program
Livelihood and Empowerment Program was organized by ForestAction Nepal. The seven day program was held from August 1-7, 2015 in Makwanpur.
